As of version 1.0b6r9, the reported bugs are:
- On Windows, file-based data sources do not work. A workaround is to use System or User data sources.
- In the ODBC Query Tool menu, if you delete the last query you had saved (i.e. there should be no saved queries left), the menu won't update itself until a Frontier restart. This looks like a bug inherent to Frontier's menu handling, and there is no known workaround.
- Microsoft Access: Retrieving fields of type Date/Time will fail. It has also been noticed that even though a first ODBC call may erroneously return the empty set, subsequent calls using the same SQL statement will return data, and thus yield different results. This all probably stems from a Microsoft Access bug documented on the Microsoft website. It is reprinted here for your convenience. Basically, the gist of it is that date/time fields in MS Access are problematic. The article gives some workarounds. Thanks, Brad Marsh.
- There is a problem when running the init() script in Windows 95. The culprit is file.getVersion(), which seems to be broken when trying to access DLLs. In Windows NT it works without a problem. What you need to do in Windows 95 as a temporary workaround is to comment out the bundle that starts with "if file.getVersion(.....". Then rerun the init script. In 1.0b6r9, the offending line is already disabled. Another better solution is to upgrade to the latest Frontier 5.02 application. The file.getVersion() bug was fixed somewhere around 5.02b14.
