The Advantages of Frontier's Database

For those of you with lingering discomfort with the object database, I present these facts for your consideration:

  • The Object database is fast! It has a simple clean design, that allows for fast lookups. Inside, there are hash indices on every level of the database so that all lookups of data are really fast.

The Object Database has had thousands and thousands of hours of burn on Macs all over the world, since 1992. It's very reliable. Some Macintosh webmasters even use the ODB as a substitute for the MacOS file system, to take advantage of the speed of Frontier's ODB design.

  • It's powerful. The ODB can hold large amounts of data of all kinds, and then give you an easy system of refering to that data (odb addresses). This flexiblity makes it a great tool for almost any job!

On to the top level of the root. Let's find out what's in the database.
